About NewBreedCats.com

This purpose of this web site is to highlight and promote the many new breeds of cats that are currently in development around the world. We also of course like to remember our recent alumni who have gained full registration status in the major registries, as well as a few special breeds who have fallen by the wayside.

This web site is a showcase for some of the fledgling new breeds being developed in the cat fancy. It is vital that new people become involved with these varieties in order to allow them to grow and develop. Being involved with the development of a new breed is an exciting and rewarding process!

The creators of this web site also understand that from time to time there is great controversy over what should be considered a new breed or not.  It will not be the policy of this web site to get involved in these debates. Any group of people who are working towards the recognition of their breed can be listed if they choose, with exception to those who are deliberately breeding harmful mutations or deformities. Beyond that, the worthiness of a particular new breed is up to the registries and the cat fancy at large to decide. This web site will follow and log each breed's accomplishments (or lack thereof) on this journey.
